YOUNG, DEDICATED ENGINEERS / PROFESSIONALS FOR ITS VARIOUS UNITS West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) , a professionally-managed, consistently Profit-making, Government-owned, multi-sited power transmission Company in Eastern India with annual turnover of around 720 crore, invites applications from Indian Nationals to fill up the following posts:
01- Assistant Engineer (Electrical): Full Time 4 years’ B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics (Combined) / B.Sc. (H) in Physics with 3 years’ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering/Power Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE/IITs.
02- Assistant Engineer (Civil): Full Time 4 years’ B.E / B.Tech /B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering from recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE /IITs.
03- Assistant Engineer (IT&CSc): Full Time 4 years’ B.E / B.Tech /B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / MCA (full time) / B.Sc (H) in Physics and B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE /IITs.
04- Assistant Manager (HR&A): Graduate in any discipline and MBA (2 years’ full time course) /MPM (2 years’ full time course) / MHRM (2 years’ full time course) with major specialization in Personnel Management / H.R. or Post-Graduate full time Degree / Diploma (2 years’ course) with specialization in Personnel Management / H.R. from a recognized University / reputed Institute approved by AICTE/IIMs/XLRI/IITB Schools.
05- Assistant Manager (F&A): Graduate in any discipline and passed Final Examination from Institute of Chartered Accounts of India or Institute of Cost & Works Accounts of India or MBA (2 years’ full time) with specialization in Finance from a recognized university /reputed Institute duly approved by AICTE/IIMs/XLRI/IITB Schools with specialization in Finance from a recognized university.
Pay Band: 15,600 – 39,100, Grade Pay: 5,400/-
Note: Degree from Open University / Private University / Distance Learning mode / Part Time / Sandwich Course shall not be considered.
Other Facilities: In addition to Basic Pay & D.A., G.P., HRA, Medical Allowance, Electricity Allowance, Hill Compensatory Allowance, Project Allowance (depending on the place of posting) LTC / HTC, CPF, Gratuity, Liberal benefits for Indoor treatment in leading hospital for Self & Dependents, Leave Encashment, Incentives, Ex-gratia, Children Education expenses and other allowances as per the Rules of the Company are admissible. For posts under sl. no. 1–5 are also entitled to professional allowance.

The selected candidates shall undergo extensive on-the-job and class room training in the Company’s establishments as well as in leading management / technical institutes during the period of probation. On successful completion of probation, they may be confirmed under the Company. They are required to furnish a bond of ` 50,000/- at the time of joining the Company and are required to serve the Company for a minimum period of 4 years from the date of joining.
Age Limit: 27 years as on 01-01-2010. Age is relaxable by 5 years for SC /ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates of W.B. State only.
Reservation: Reservation of the posts shall be made for reserved category candidates as per the guidelines issued by the Govt. of West Bengal from time to time. SC / ST / OBC candidates from the states other than West Bengal have to apply as General Candidate.
Mode of Selection: Selection will be made on the basis of performance at written test and interview for post code 01 to 05.Candidates called for Written Test & Interview shall not be entitled to reimbursement of travelling expenses. The Written Test & Interview will be held in Kolkata only.
How to Apply: The candidates for the post under Sl. No. 01 to 05 are required to submit Bank Draft of 400/- as application fees (SC / ST candidates from the State of West
Bengal is exempted from paying application fees).
The last date of receipt of all documents with Registration Slip and Bank Draft is 11.12.2010 . Incomplete papers / without Bank Draft / Received late are liable to be rejected. The candidates must ensure that they have requisite qualifications shown against each post as per layout of advertisement and fulfills all the required criteria before applying for the post. Online submission of the applications will be allowed on the website between 18.11.2010 and 08.12.2010. No other means / mode of application shall be accepted.
While applying on-line, candidate should have the following readily available.

Non–refundable Crossed Demand Draft/Pay Order of ` 400/- as processing and Examination fees for Sl. No. 01 to 05. SC / ST candidates from the state of West Bengal are exempted from processing and examination fees.
The DD details (if applicable) and valid e-mail ID are mandatory fields without which applications will not be registered.
The Demand Draft/Pay Order is non refundable and should be drawn in favor of “West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd.” payable at Kolkata only . Demand Draft/Pay Orders payable at locations other than Kolkata will not be accepted. Money Order / Postal Order or any other mode of payment is not acceptable.

Read the details very carefully before applying. Click on “Online Application Form ” to fill up the application form.
After you fill the Application form, click Submit to Save the data and proceed further. .
After successful registration click on the “Print Registration Slip” link for Printing of Registration Slip
Paste a recent passport size photograph on the printed registration slip, photograph should be self-Attested. Attach the Demand Draft/Pay Order & attested copies of Caste/Disability Certificate (as
applicable), Testimonials, Age proof by Gazetted officer and send the same by ordinary post at the address given below. Only original Registration Slip (no photocopy) shall be accepted.
If your candidature is found eligible you will be intimated by e-mail latest by 24.12.2010 regarding the written test. On receipt of the e-mail you will have to login once again to www.WBSETCL.in and click on “PRINT THE ADMIT CARD”.
Print the admit card and paste a recent passport size photograph, self attest the same by signing across your photograph, carry the ADMIT CARD to the examination centre on the date and time indicated therein. Photograph affixed on the registration slip and admit card, should be the same.
NOTE: Please do not try to retain / copy the Application Form as well as the Registration Slip on your computer as you can reprint the registration slip till the offer is open (i.e. upto 08.12.2010). After applying online, candidate is required to print the system generated Registration Slip with unique Registration Number and other essential details with space for passport size Photograph & Signature. In order to save the data entered, candidate should click “Save” button and then print the Registration Slip.
