INDIAN ARMY: 114th TECHNICAL GRADUATE COURSE (JAN 2012) & 38th SSC (T) and 9th SSC (T) Women

Applications are invited from Engineering Graduates married / unmarried male Indian citizens including temporary central / state Govt. servants , servicing personnel of the regular army or territorial Army )( Including officers of territorial Army ) and servicing personnel of Navy and Air force for grant of permanent commission to the Indian Army. (b) For 38th SSC (T) Men and 9th SSC (T) Women: Applications are invited from married / unmarried male and unmarried female and widows of Defence personnel’s ( with/ without children) For grant of short service commission to the Indian Army. (c) Stream wise vacancies and age are as given in the attached advertisement.
VACANCIES:
TGC-114th (Men): 68 posts in various Engineering Branches
38th SSC (Tech.) for Men : 50 posts
9th SSC (Tech.) Women : 43 posts
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: For Engineer’s (men and women) . Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering Degree and who are qualified graduates of the Degree course in Engineering will be eligible to apply. The qualified graduates of the Degree course must possess Engineering Degree at the time of joining training. The candidates Studying in the final year of Degree Course if not already in possession of the degree certificates should be able to produce the engineering degree with in 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA/OTA Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to produce the requisite degree certificate (ii) For Army education corps (For men) .MAIM. .sc degree in 1st or 2nd division from a university recognized by AIU in English /Economics/history/ music / Geography / Political Science / Physics / Math and MCA. (iii) For military Farm (for men) . A degree in in dairying or a degree in Agriculture from recognized university With dairying as one of the subject or an equivalent foreign qualification in Agriculture ( preference will be given to those who hold m.s.c Degree or have carried out research in dairying of fodder crops) (Al 105/ 61).
AGE LIMIT: 20-27 years
IMPORTANT NOTE: (a) A Candidate can opt for both TGC and SS/Tech indicating choice candidates are advised to send only one application. Forwarding of double applications will be cancelled. (b) Army head quarters reserves the right to short list applications without assigning any reason . No communication will be entertained on this account. Widows of defence personnel , including those with children ,who have died in harness will be eligible to apply short service commission (Tech) . They will be eligible only if they have not remarried. . The unfilled vacancies will revert to the category other than that of widows. Upper age limit will be relaxable up to four years in respect of such candidates. A copy of death certificate and part II order is to be enclosed . The envelop containing the application should be super scribed in red ink indicating clearly the name of the officer with rank . For example Widow of late …. , Candidates may apply directly to AG’s branch , ADG Recruiting Army HQ provided they possess the laid down educational qualification and selection criteria.
CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY: (a) Nationality: A candidate must either be (i) a citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) Tibetan origin but of Indian domicile , whose parents entered India as refugees prior to first January 1962 with the intention of permanently setting in India(v) a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan , Myanmar Sri Lanka , East African Countries like Kenya, Uganda , United republic of Tanzania , Zambi, Malwai, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to Categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility however not be necessary in the case of candidate who are Gorkhas subject of Nepal. (b) Candidates withdrawn from IMA/OTA/Naval Academy/air Force Academy on disciplinary ground are not eligible to apply. (c) Physical Standards: (i) Height & Weight: The minimum acceptable height and weight for men 157.5cms with correlated weight and for women candidate is 152 cm and 42kg. . in case the candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkha’s Nepalese , Assamese and Garhwalis, the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height . In case og candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2cms. (ii) Visual Standards: The minimum acceptable visual acuity are : Distant division (corrected) better eye 6/6 , worse 6/18 ,Myopia of not more than minus 1.5 including Astigmation. Candidates who have under gone or have evidence for permanently rejected.
Method of selection: (a) Short listing of applications and SSB Interviews: Initial checking of applications will be done at Additional Directorate General Recruiting, Army Hqs. Only eligible candidates will be called for and assessed under aegis of Selection centers namely Allahabad (up) , Bhopal (mp) and Bangalore (Karnataka) by psychologist , Group testing officer and interview officer. Candidates will not be interviewed be locally. Allotment of selection centre is at the discretion of Army Headquarters’ and no request of change are entertained in this regard. (b) Two stage selection procedure: Two stage selection procedure based on psychological Aptitude test in held at selection centers . All the candidate will face stage on test on first day of reporting at selection centres . The candidates who quality in the stage one will be admitted to the second stage/ remaining tests. Those who fail to pass stage one will be returned on the same date. (c) MERIT LIST: IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT MERE QUALIFYING AT THE SSB INTERVIEW DOES NOT CONFIRM FINAL SELECTION. A MERIT LIST IS PREPARED FOR EVERY QUALIFICATION ie.. , CODESEPARATELY PURLEY ON THE BASIS OF MARKS OBTAINED BY THE CANDIDATES AT SSB’S AND AS SUCH HIGHER EDUCATIONAL PREVIOUS PERFOMANCES, NCC BACK GROUND ETC.. HAVE NO ROLE TO PLAY . THOSE HIGH IN THE MERIT LIST AND WHOCOME WITHIN THE STIPULATED VACANCIES , AND ARE MEDICALLY FIT ARE ISSUED JOINING INSTRUCTION FOR PRECOMMISIONING TRAINING. (d) The merit list of recommended candidates will be displayed at the reception of ADG RTG and Indian Army website ie www.joinindianarmy.nic.in two years on voluntary basis or upto to the change the age 37 years for women and 40 years for men whichever is earlier.

Brother… You hv got only one chance to apply as your age is 28, which is last limit for forces… in Jan again, TGC forms will be out, fill that and try ur best for SSB. Also, fill CDS form. Both these will be your last chance, so make best use of this opportunity.

No relaxation will be given at SSB. SSB is purely on merit basis. If you hv OLQ’s, u won’t be needing any sort of relaxations.
