Indian Navy: Executive Branch as Officers - SSC (General Service / Hydro Cadre)

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre) of the Indian Navy for Jan 2011 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

Age: 19 ½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1986 and 01 Jul 1991; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications: Any of the following:

  1. A Science graduate with Physics & Mathematics with minimum 65% marks from a recognized University.
  2. BE/B Tech with minimum 65% marks in aggregate in any discipline from a institution recognized by AICTE.
  3. Science graduates (Physics & Mathematics) from a recognized University holding NCC Naval Wing, Senior Division ‘C’ certificate.
  4. Graduate/Post Graduate in Operations Analysis and Operational Research/Quantitative methods with minimum 75% marks from recognised university.
  5. Graduate/Post Graduate in Mathematics, with Probability or Statistics with minimum 75% marks from a recognised university.

Note: Candidates who have not completed their graduation need not apply.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

The candidates must be physically fit according to following physical standards:-
(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - Male- 157 cms, Female -152 cms with correlated weight.

(b) Eye Sight. 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses. The candidate should not be colour/night blind.

Short Service Commission

  1. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership skills and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

NTPC Ltd. offers one of the best pay packages in the industry.  Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 11225-4%-17250 at the basic pay of Rs. 11225/- during one-year training. These candidates will be absorbed after successful completion of training as Engineer / Officer in the pay scale of Rs.12000-4%-17500 at a basic pay of Rs. 12000/-. Besides basic pay candidates will also be paid Industrial Dearness Allowance. Other Allowances and benefits such as leave, medical treatment, Leave Travel Concession, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Conveyance Reimbursement, HRA etc will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training / after absorption. PLACEMENT

The selected candidates shall undergo one year training at various places. The final place of posting will be allocated after successful completion of training. AGE LIMIT

a) Engineering Executive Trainees (EET): Full time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized Indian University with not less than 65% marks, taking average of all the Semesters/Years, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester/year by the Institute/University. CA / ICWA qualified, from institute recognized by appropriate statutory authority in India, will be eligible to apply. Final year / semester students who expect their result by 01.08.2010 may also apply.

YEAR OF PASSING PRESCRIBED QUALIFICATION
Candidates who have passed out the minimum academic qualification required for the post of ET in last three years including the year in which the ET entrance test is being held would only be eligible to apply for the ET test .i.e. for ET 2010 batch only those candidates who have passed out in 2008, 2009 will be eligible to apply. However, in case of reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST and physically challenged), year of passing criterion is relaxed by one year i.e. a reserved candidate who passed out in last four years including the year in which the ET entrance test is being held would be eligible to apply.

SELECTION PROCESS

Eligible candidates will have to undergo a Selection Test. Based on merit and requirement the list of successful candidates for interview will be made available at www.ntpccareers.net and will be emailed to such candidates. All short listed candidates will have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview before the Company’s Central Selection Board. The final list of candidates being offered, “Offer of appointment” will be made available online.

TEST CENTERS
The selection test will be held in 27 cities as mentioned in the online Application system. Candidates have to choose any two cities as preference-1 and preference-2, as Test Center and no change in any circumstance will be considered subsequently. However, NTPC reserves the right to cancel or add any center depending on the response of the candidates for that area / center.
Admission to the test will be on production of Admit Card, which is to be downloaded only from the site by the candidates.

ABOUT TEST
The All India Test is scheduled on 12.04.2009 (Sunday). The test can be taken in Hindi or English. Candidates will have to give their choice for appearing in Hindi or English at the time of applying for the post, which cannot be changed subsequently. The test will be in two parts. Part-I will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions of the relevant 6 disciplines as advertised. Part-II will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions on Executive Aptitude Test. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong / multiple answered question.

  1. Reservations and relaxations for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / Physically Handicapped (degree of disability 40% or above) candidates will be provided as per Government guidelines. 
  2. Category (SC / ST /OBC/ PH) once filled in the online application form will not be changed and no benefit of other category will be admissible later on. The reserved category candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in the prescribed format of Government of India, issued by the competent authority, along with the registration slip and also at time of interview, if called for. 
  3. No registration fee will be charged from SC/ST & Physically Challenged category candidates. 
  4. All SC, ST and Physically Challenged candidates with at least 55% marks in qualifying examination are eligible to apply for the post. 
  5. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. It is relaxed by 10 years for PH-General, 13 years for PH-OBC and 15 years for PH-SC/ST candidates. 
  6. The OBC candidates who belong to “Creamy Layer” are not entitled for OBC concession and such candidates have to indicate their category as General. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are required to submit requisite certificate in prescribed format of Government of India, from a competent authority issued in the current year. Further, such candidates will have to give a self-undertaking indicating that they belong to OBC (Non creamy Layer) category at the time of interview, if called for. 
  7. Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.

SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND
The selected candidates who belong to General and OBC category will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 2,50,000/- to successfully complete the prescribed training and thereafter serve the company for at least 3 years. This amount is Rs. 1,25,000/- for SC/ST and Physically Handicapped Category candidates.

HEALTH
The candidate should have sound health. Before joining, candidates will have to undergo medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board and the decision of the board will be final and binding. No relaxation in health standards is allowed. Further, the candidates with myopia and hypermetropia exceeding + 4.00, squint and color blindness, partial or full, need not apply.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Eligible candidates have to apply through online registration system of NTPC only. To apply visit: www.ntpccareers.net with your valid E-mail ID. The site is functional from 1300 hours of 02.03.2010 to midnight of 22.03.2010.
  2. Candidate belonging to General/OBC category is required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 500/-. The SC / ST / PH category candidate need not pay the registration fee.
  3. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee, in a specially opened account (No. 30605838329) at CAG branch, New Delhi, on behalf of NTPC. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” which is available on the application registration portal. The pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during online registration. In case the candidate deposit the fee in a wrong account, NTPC will not be responsible. There will not be any other mode of money collection.
  4. After applying online, candidate is required to download the registration slip generated by the system with unique registration number.
  5. The candidate should send duly signed one printout of registration slip after affixing the colour photograph, caste / PH certificate (if applicable) and photocopy of the pay-in-slip in an envelop. Candidate can keep copy of registration slip and pay-in-slip for his future reference.
  6. The candidate should write “ET-2010” & registration number on the top of the envelope and should send the envelop by ordinary post to:

10th National Certification Exam for Energy Managers & Energy Auditors

8th NATIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION FOR ENERGY MANAGERS AND ENERGY AUDITORS- APRIL-2010

(for supplementary candidates and Upgradation from EM to EA Candidates only)

As per the Energy Conservation Act 2001, it is mandatory for the designated consumers to designate or appoint an Energy Manager (under clause 14(l)]. BEE has been empowered to specify the qualification criteria and procedures for the certification of Energy Managers and qualifications for Accredited Energy Auditors.

 

The Examination will be conducted on 24th & 25th APRIL, 2010 for the eligible Supplementary candidates and Upgradation from EM to EA Candidates only, who had earlier registered for the previous examinations and have not been declared qualified. No fresh registration is permitted for the current examination. In case, those eligible supplementary candidates who are not able to appear or not able to qualify in the current April 2010 Examination, will be required to write the subsequent examinations under revised syllabus and revised eligibility criteria as applicable from time to time. The eligible supplementary candidates are also being informed through post on the postal addresses available in records. However, BEE will not be held responsible for the non receipt of such communication due to any reasons.
NATIONAL CERTIFYING AGENCY: BEE has retained National Productivity Council (NPC) as the National Certifying Agency to conduct and administer the National Certification Examination for Energy Managers and Energy Auditors.
